Custard Tarts

Ingredient:

Pastry
100g flour
50g margarine
cold water

Custard Filling
2 tbsp custard powder
2 tbsp sugar
2 cups mike
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
2 red cherries
2 tbsp cocktail fruit

Method:

  1. Sift flour.
  2. Rub margarine into flour.
  3. Add cold water - mix to a dough.
  4. Roll and cut into rounds pastry case - prick centre with fork.
  5. Bake in oven until light brown.
  6. Mix custard powder, sugar, vanilla essence with some milk.
  7. Add in the rest of the milk gradually to mixture, beating constantly with a whisk.
  8. Slowly reheat, stirring constantly in one direction until thick.
  9. Fill pastry cases with the mixture. The custard will get thicken more once it cools.
  10. Top with a piece of cherry and mixed cocktail fruit.

Temperature: 200 degree Celsius
Baking Time: 10 - 15 minutes
